Sunday marked the 43rd edition of Mastah Rolla’s Mastah Concentrate Series. This rendition was the latest in an ever-changing chain of events for the cannabis concentrate connoisseur. The Mastah Concentrate Series Throwdown’s always offer a number of top tier extract companies competing with samples of their best products as they vie for your votes, round after round.
This Sunday’s Throwdown was extra special because it marked the first ever Mastah Edible Series. This new series had 4 cannabis edible vendors competing with non-THC infused products. This was a welcomed addition to the MCS Throwdown. With 5 extract vendors competing in 5 rounds of concentrate competitions you definitely work up an appetite while judging. The vendors pulled out all the stops with gelato, soup, cookies and maple bacon cupcakes with injectable maple syrup cores! (The eventual winner)
The event worked great with extract companies offering one strain of concentrate to sample each 30-minute round. The fifth and final round is an hour long, with all four previous strains available for sampling. This provides new strains to sample throughout the event, and a chance at the end to try something you may have missed. Voting is done each round by placing poker chips in your favourite companies container.
This is similar to how the edible completion is judged. Upon entering the event you are given a stack of poker chips to vote for concentrates, and Mastah cards to vote in the edible competition. You have the full 4-hour event to sample the different edibles available and cast your votes. At the end of the event, all the votes are tallied up and the winning companies are announced.
Sofa King Good Bakery won the edible competition, and Kind Selection took home first place for the concentrates. Kind Selection was also the winner of the two creative joints that were raffled off by Cody VanGogh through out the day.
