Leaf Toronto is a community that organizes meet-ups for entrepreneurs, professionals and innovators all focused on the Toronto cannabis industry. Leaf Toronto events are a hybrid between a speaker event and a networking function.
Each month there is a new, featured guest who is very knowledgeable in at least one area of the cannabis industry. The March edition featured Michael Lickver a tech lawyer turned cannabis lawyer. Prior to the discussion starting, attendees were offered pizza and drinks as they networked. Everyone was very friendly and open to learning about each other’s businesses. After a quick networking session, it was almost time for the speaker, Michael Lickver, to get on stage. 
Before the featured speaker started, audience members were asked if they wanted to share their business with the audience. This helped connect people, allowing them to follow up after the discussion. Leaf Toronto started by facilitates the conversation, after the opening networking session. The questions touched on Mr. Lickver’s experience and history, filling in his background for those who may have been unaware.
Questions which included: are there any repeated failures business keep overlooking, and are there any areas of the industry that are going to excel for sure? To which the answers are, ideas that are presumed to be legal but are in fact illegal and THC breathalyzers are expected to have a big growth once correctly figured out. 
After the questions from Leaf Toronto, the floor was opened up to the audience for any questions they may have. This allowed for members of the audience to follow up with various topics that were discussed throughout the conversation.
After all the questions were answered, the audience made their way over to the food and drinks to continue with their networking. The Leaf Toronto event worked really well as a networking event, resulting in multiple connections. We will definitely be returning!
