The retail cannabis store at 333 Yonge Street is operated by sole proprietor Colin Campbell, but you wouldn’t guess it from the Tokyo Smoke branding that decks out the entire store.

For the uninitiated, Tokyo Smoke is part of the Canopy Growth family of brands but it first established itself in the city by operating a chain of coffee shops. The Yonge Street location is the first licensed to sell cannabis in Ontario though outlets in Manitoba have been doing so for months.

For now, the store is relatively small, just 1,500 of the 5,000 square feet of it is up-and-running, but it provides a complete cannabis shopping experience to those that wait in the short line outside.

Quick Hit

Branded by Tokyo Smoke from top to bottom, the store is located in the heart of downtown Toronto near the intersection of Yonge and Dundas in the former flagship HMV store.

You may have bought records there at some point, but now you’ll find cannabis.

All cannabis products sold here are sorted into one of five sections–Go, Rise, Equalize, Ease, and Pause–depending on THC and CBD content, and whether the product is a sativaindica or hybrid.

Vibe

The design-minded retailer exudes a bright-white vibe from the inside, and it feels like taking a stroll through a home décor store

Customer Service

The single-room showroom encourages patrons to walk around and check out the displays of cannabis products and placards along each wall.
