Mary’s Wellness Overview:
Mary’s Wellness is a health conscious medical cannabis company that offers a non-smoking option to consuming your cannabis. Mary’s Wellness makes different flavours of infused teas all containing THC and CBD.
Accessing Mary’s Wellness:
Mary’s Wellness was available in many Toronto dispensaries and out at events, but unfortunately are harder to find these days. The best place to order the teas from is their website it’s self as it has a bulk discount. There are a few dispensaries that still carry Mary’s Wellness, with Queens of Cannabis being the most prominent one.
Mary’s Wellness Pricing & Selection:
Mary’s Wellness has 18 different tea blends all with 60mg of THC and 6mg of CBD. This is a medium dose of cannabis, making for a great way for regular cannabis consumers to start their day. If you’re new to cannabis, 60mg of THC is likely too much. The CBD will help counteract the THC, making the effects less sharp, but it is recommended to start with half or a third of a tea. Each individual Mary’s Brew packet retails for $5, with larger box set retailing for $39.99 directly from their website containing 12 individual packets.
Unique to Mary’s Wellness:
Mary’s Wellness was the first Canadian company to create cannabis infused teas and has been doing so since 2015. Their products contain 60mg of THC, 6mg of CBD and an unknown amount of caffeine. The caffeine and cannabis is supposed to help with focus without any anxiety. I would like to see this product with a warning that it contains caffeine & cannabis and a recommended starting dose. As someone who doesn’t regularly have caffeine I noticed my appetite increasing and some jitters/mental blurriness I often get from caffeine. I’m sure not everyone will have a similar reaction, but patients should know what they are consuming, caffeine could keep an insomnia patient up all night. There is a warning that this is a medical cannabis product and to keep it out of reach from children and pets.
Mary’s Brew Taste:
The taste of each tea depending on how you make it. I find the teas have a light, easy to drink taste without any cannabis flavour. For a stronger flavour, the tea can be left to steep. I also recommend adding more hot water once you’ve finished each cup so no cannabinoids go to waste. I have a few of Mary’s Wellness’ teas and have enjoyed them all.
Mary’s Brew Effects:
The effects are quick to set in as the cannabinoids are contained in the liquid that is coating your mouth. This allows the THC and CBD to be absorb (sublingually) through your skin, this makes for fast absorption and a quick onset of effects. I noticed some effects being present after 30 minutes of consuming and before I had finished my first cup. The effects were not particular strong for a regular daily patient such as myself, but would be great for newer cannabis consumers. A tea is also a simple way to medicate yourself, if you have a higher tolerance multiple teas can be had throughout the day.
