Relax, explore and smoke some pot. It is the long weekend after all.
For those with high expectations, options abound — from bonfires to a sophisticated spa experience and weekend retreats. Here is a list of pot-friendly spots that are worth taking a road trip.
Exodia Estate, Niagara Region
Located two hours away from Toronto, Exodia is a luxurious estate surrounded by three acres of English gardens at Port Dover, Norfolk County. At a steep average of $2,000 to $3,000 per night, Exodia is a heritage mansion and an ideal spot for hosting a large group of friends or corporate retreats.
Parks Creek Retreat, north of Belleville
The four-season retreat and wellness studio is located on 18 acres of forest and just two hours away from Toronto. At an average of $1,000 to $1,500 per night, guests can even opt for “crated experiences”, where they can choose from a wide range of activities — from yoga to spa services, hiking tours and kayaking.
Brick and Beam loft, downtown Toronto
The loft, located in old downtown Toronto, can host up to four overnight guests or double as an event space accommodating six to 40 people. At $400 per night, the space is cannabis-friendly, but cigarette smoking is strictly prohibited, with guests risking getting kicked out without any refund.
Canna Daily Inn, Toronto
The apartment, located in Little Italy, is a 15-minute walk from Toronto’s Kensington Market and Chinatown. But one of the biggest draws of this $200 per night rental is the complimentary gram of cannabis that guests will receive on arrival. The apartment is equipped with reading material and info on cannabis. If looking for a recommendation on the local cannabis culture, the host is happy to help.
