Why settle for just Sex in the City, when Sesh and the City can kick things up a notch?
“Lots of people struggle with staying present during sex and feeling relaxed,” Luna Matatas, Toronto-based sex and pleasure educator, tells the GrowthOp.
While CBD-infused lubes may help relax muscles or decrease inflammation, THC-infused lubes can help increase receptivity to sensations.
Based on anecdotal evidence “some people experience both a body and local genital relaxation from CBD (cannabidiol — the non-impairing, anti-inflammatory cannabis compound) lubes, which can lead to more pleasure during sex, less pain, and more blood flow and arousal to your genitals,” Matatas notes.
Meanwhile, THC (tetrahydrocannabinol — cannabis compound that causes the high) lubes are ideal if the objective is “getting back into your body through focused intense sensations, and users have reported more intense receptivity to sensations,” she explains.
Lubes may take anywhere from 15-45 minutes for the effects of the lube to kick in, so ensure patience is a virtue on-demand.
If looking to test and experiment with infused lubes, here are products on sale from licensed Canadian retailers that might make cannabis the highlight of the year.
Looking for a little THC before you dive in between the sheets? Then try this intimacy spray. The 30mL bottle contains 8mg/mL THC, and is good for about 300 sprays.
Why THC, you may ask? The cannabis compound can come in handy to loosen things up. In a 2016 interview with Leafly, budtender and owner of Top Shelf Budtending Andrew Mieure said that THC can help with “that mental shift: whether that be loosening your mental state to be ready for sex or actually making the sex feel better physically, the mental shift is more noticeable with THC, thus the need for the higher THC products.”
The product is currently available through the B.C. Cannabis Stores.
