A juvenile that had been missing for over a year was accidentally located by Sudbury police alongside 50 pounds of pot.
Officers responding to reports of gunfire in a parking lot near a playground allegedly discovered a group of people taking turns firing a replica gun from a parked car, according to police and the Daily Voice. Officers reportedly saw marijuana in open sight, along with scales, cash and boxes of edibles.
“Not only did this incident result in the seizure of a large quantity of marijuana and edibles, but also this occurred within a few yards of a playground and bus stop,” said police chief Scott Nix. “These edibles were packed with the identical names of household snack brands and would be indistinguishable to children.”
After questioning the group involved, it soon became clear that one of the individuals was concealing his identity and had previously been reported as a missing child. Police did not offer any more information on where the youth was reported missing from but said he is not currently facing any charges although that could change as the investigation unfolds.
