Cannabis consumers and supporters may be heartened by a new Gallup poll out of the U.S.
According to 70 per cent of the 1,028 U.S. adults polled by phone in May, smoking weed is now considered to be an acceptable moral behaviour. Only 28 per cent of respondents reported that consuming cannabis was morally unacceptable, notes Gallup’s latest Values and Beliefs poll.
For nearly 20 years, the Gallup poll has been keeping tabs on the moral acceptability of a range of issues. Encouragingly, the percentage of people who find smoking marijuana to be acceptable has climbed five points in just two years.
