Seth Rogen has kept busy during the pandemic.
Rogen wrote a book, became a ceramist, launched his weed brand, Houseplant, in the U.S., and did it all while smoking “ungodly amounts”of cannabis.
The stereotype of the unproductive stoner goes out the window with Rogen, who said in a recent interview with the Irish Times that he begins each day with a joint.
“I wake up in the morning, I make a cup of coffee and I roll a joint,” he said. “I drink my coffee as I smoke my joint, and I continue smoking weed until I go to sleep. I often will wake up in the middle of the night and have a few hits of a joint if I’m not sleeping well.”
While that’s certainly not a recipe that everyone can replicate successfully, Rogen said in the interview that cannabis has helped him manage a mild case of Tourette’s syndrome, and, in general, makes his day-to-day living more enjoyable. “The world is not a comfortable place for me, and many other people, at times,” he told the Irish Times, adding that cannabis can help smooth over those rough edges. “It is no different to me than wearing shoes or glasses or anything else that I am doing to acknowledge that I am just not fully cut out for the world and need some help,” he said. “Could I walk around in bare feet all day? Maybe. But why?”
In an interview with the New York Times, Rogen and his father, Mark, discussed how cannabis has also helped Rogen cope with attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD). “The miracle of marijuana changed [Rogen’s] life,” according to his father.
“We had him on a strict diet that helped keep him in balance, but it wasn’t 100 per cent. Marijuana finally made his cells relax,” the elder Rogen said.
