After receiving their government dispensary licence Wednesday morning, Sessions Cannabis opened its doors at 30 Diana Dr. in Orillia.
The Orillia location is the 43rd store to fall under the Sessions brand and offers the local community a wide range of cannabis products with 250 variations available on the floor.
Sessions Cannabis co-founder and CEO, Steven Fry, said he is excited to be opening the newest Sessions location in what he considers to be his own backyard.
“I have roots in this community as I grew up in the Barrie area. I have family who lives in this area, so we are really excited to be opening in Orillia,” Fry said.
With locations spreading all across Ontario, ranging as far south as Windsor, and as far north as Sault Ste. Marie, Sessions is the largest and fastest-growing cannabis retailer in the province according to Fry.
The west Orillia location was appealing, he said.
“This plaza that we are in has a lot of big draws: Costco, Starbucks … so we thought what a great opportunity to open in this thriving area that is growing quite rapidly,” Fry explained.
Fry says customers in Orillia will discover the service and overall experience at the new dispensary will set Sessions apart from other local cannabis retailers.
“Most stores are a typical dispensary style, where our store is a place where you build your basket with a ‘budtender’ who can help customers learn a lot more and have a much better experience,” he said.
“Most often our customers say we are a pothead’s dream store. Everything is out on the floor, everything is out on display, everything is at your fingertips.”
