SDG OPP Briefs: Two in Alexandria Arrested on Cannabis-Related Charges

Members of the Ontario Provincial Police SDG Community Street Crime Unit (CSCU) have seized over 40 cannabis plants in North Glengarry Township.

In a media release on Thursday afternoon, it was reported that CSCU officers, along with members of the OPP Emergency Response Team (ERT) and OPP members of the SDG detachment, executed a warrant on Tuesday at a location on Industrial Boulevard in Alexandria.

In addition to the cannabis plants, officers also seized dried cannabis and bear spray.

Nathaniel Dorey, 28, of North Glengarry, was arrested and charged with cultivate, propagate or harvest more than four cannabis plants, possession of weapon for dangerous purpose, distribute illicit cannabis, and fail to comply with probation order.

Chelsea Prieur, 29, of North Glengarry, was arrested and charged with cultivate, propagate or harvest more than four cannabis plants, possession of weapon for dangerous purpose, and distribute illicit cannabis.

Both accused were released from custody and are scheduled to attend the Ontario Court of Justice in Alexandria on July 7.

DRIVER CHARGED WITH IMPAIRED

In South Dundas on Monday, an SDG OPP officer responded to a traffic complaint, regarding a reckless driver on County Road 2.

The vehicle was located in the drive-through at a local restaurant. The vehicle then collided with a vehicle in the drive-through, which was an unmarked police vehicle. The driver was then arrested.
