In what can only be described as the most apt convergence of form and function, RAW Natural Rolling Papers is marking the stoner-cherished 4/20 “holiday” with a mind-bending, joint-rolling competition.
But no regular joints will do on this most important day on the cannabis connoisseur’s calendar; the virtual contest, focusing on both flash and substance, will pit the prowess of rolling aficionados, amateur smoking enthusiasts and true artists across the community against one another in the ultimate smokedown.
The company’s first annual World Rolling Championship 2021 will be judged by the editors of High Times Magazine, RAW rolling papers CEO Josh Kesselman and a panel of top experts, notes an announcement about the big to-do.
Participants should submit their “best in class work” via photo or video to @worldrollingchampionship no later than Apr. 18. No purchase or payment of any kind is necessary to enter.
Competitors, who must be 21 and located in the U.S., began submitting their best options on Mar. 17, so don’t wait too long to fire up all that creativity. The idea is to focus on pieces that are as original and unique as possible, notes the announcement for RAW, whose papers are unbleached, unrefined, made of just plants and plant starch and contain no chalk, dyes and burn additives.
Remember, all submissions must be “lightable”, smokable and made of rolling papers from the birthplace of rolling papers, Alcoy, Spain, but cannot be made of or contain any tobacco whatsoever. The inaugural world champion will be crowned 4/20.
