Marijuana advocates are planning to hold a rally Thursday afternoon to protest the two city police raids at the Cannabis Culture marijuana store on George Street that have resulted in three arrests.
The rally is slated to be held at Peterborough City Hall, 500 George St. N. from 4 to 6 p.m. Thursday.
It is being organized by a group called Peterborough Cannabis Culture — Fighting Unjust Laws, which lists Eamon Cyr and Wayne Matheson as organizers.
The group states it wants to “diminish the stigma surrounding cannabis in our community” and call for municipal regulations and laws to legalize marijuana sales.
The Cannabis Culture store, which opened in September and is now closed again, was selling marijuana to anyone over 19 for either recreational or medical use.
