Porcupine Health Announces COVID-19 Outbreak at Northern Ontario Dispensary

Ontario’s Porcupine Health Unit (PHU) is warning cannabis consumers about a COVID-19 outbreak at a licensed dispensary in Timmins.

“The PHU is also declaring a COVID-19 oubreak at Dutch Love Cannabis in Timmins,” the Northern Ontario health and social services organization wrote in a report released June 7. “To date, two individuals are confirmed cases of COVID-19 and the investigation has determined that the cases are related to the workplace.”

PHU also lists a number of other workplaces that have active or resolved outbreaks over the last few months.

Fortunately for residents of Timmins, the temporary closure won’t leave them high and dry as the city is home to several other licensed pot shops that remain open.

Despite visions of re-opening dancing in Ontarian heads, PHU reminded the public to stay vigilant about COVID-19 safety, whether a customer is buying bud or just getting some fresh air.
