Ontario Provincial Police have charged four people from Newmarket, Colborne and two from North York in connection to an illegal marijuana grow operation.
OPP said that police went to the property on Verona Sand Road on Monday after a member of the public reported a potential grow-op, Const. Aaron Miller said. The South Frontenac Community Street Crime Unit, assisted by officers from the South Frontenac Detachment, arrived and found well over the four-plant maximum dictated by the federal Cannabis Act, Miller said.
“During their investigations officers seized a significant quantity of marijuana plants,” OPP said.
