Two people are facing drug charges after police raided an illegal pot dispensary in Chippewa of the Thames First Nation on Thursday.
Middlesex County OPP says its officers, in conjunction with the First Nation’s police, raided a marijuana dispensary on Three Fires Road, arresting two men and seizing cannabis products, including edibles. No dollar amount was released on the property seized.
The two men were charged with possession for the purpose of selling, an offence under the federal Cannabis Act that carries up to 14 years in prison. They are expected to appear in court at a later date, police said.
The OPP-led raid comes a week after police also raided an illegal dispensary in London, where they charged five people and arrested a number of customers. The customers were later released unconditionally.
