Cannabis company Fire & Flower is expanding free, same-day delivery across Ontario, including in North Bay.
A statement Monday from Fire & Flower Holdings Corp. says recent acquisitions and openings in the province, including the Friendly Stranger, Happy Dayz, and HotBox retail brands, have “bolstered” the company’s Ontario footprint, allowing it “to expand its reach as it provides legal cannabis to its customers through e-commerce, curbside and delivery services during the pandemic.”
“We have rallied our teams throughout Fire & Flower’s network of stores so that we can continue to provide the same high-level of service to our customers who are coping with this extended lockdown,” Fire & Flower chief executive officer Trevor Fencott is quoted in a media release.
“We know the demand is there and will continue to diversify our resources to serve our clients safely.”
Fire & Flower has one North Bay location, on Algonquin Avenue in Thibeault Terrace. Same-day delivery will be available each day until 6 p.m. The Edmonton-based company also offers curbside pickup.
Fire & Flower was the second cannabis store to open in the city after Tokyo Smoke.
Along with curbside pickup, Tokyo Smoke, which is based in Toronto and owned by the Smiths Falls, Ont., company Canopy Growth, offers delivery through the Ontario Cannabis Store. The company offers pickup at Canada Post offices and express delivery at no charge, with a fee applied to same-day delivery. However, express and same-day delivery are currently only available for select customers in southern Ontario.
There also are three cannabis stores on Nipissing First Nation – Northern Zen Cannabis, Cheerful Charlies Cannabis Co. and Kana Leaf.
Under the current 28-day province-wide shutdown that came into effect last Thursday, cannabis retail stores, operating with a retail store authorization, may offer curbside pickup or delivery only no earlier than 9 a.m. and no later than 8 p.m. An item may only be provided for curbside pickup if someone orders the item before arriving at the business.
