A South Bruce Penninsula man figured out how to quickly get busted when he parked his weed-smelling SUV in a public lot of Ontario’s Provincial Police’s Wiarton detachment and then fled when an officer tried to investigate.
At about 11:25 am on July 14, a member of the Grey Bruce OPP approached the car, according to the police. Detecting the smell of cannabis, the officer tried to speak to the driver about the smell, but the driver grew agitated and refused to identify himself. He then fled the scene.
An officer spotted the driver travelling southbound on Highway 6. Despite the officer activating the cruiser’s emergency lights, the driver did not stop and continued fleeing at high speed.
