Hanover’s first legal brick-and-mortar cannabis shop is open.
VIP Cannabis Company, located at 302 10th Street, officially opened on March 10. A grand opening event is scheduled for March 24.
VIP Cannabis Company will be open seven days a week, and are currently running from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., however, those store hours are expected to be expanded.
“It’s been great so far,” VIP Cannabis Company manager Amun Bhatti said to The Post. “We’ve really enjoyed talking to everybody, seeing what they like. It’s a cool community to talk to. So far, everyone has been very nice. It’s a nice loving community.”
Bhatti said staff are optimistic there is demand for cannabis products in Hanover.
“We wanted to bring a safe and easy way to get cannabis,” Bhatti said. “We provide ourselves with a lot of good education to bring to the community, to help better understand what these products do and how they can effect you, in good ways and in bad ways.
“We don’t just focus on the positive effects, because there are some risks involved with it as well, but we try to educate the community.”
VIP Cannabis Company will feature many different cannabis products, such as flower, edibles, drinks, pre-rolls, etc.
“It’s pretty much the whole nine yards,” Bhatti said.

In January 2019, Hanover opted to allow cannabis retail stores in town.
