Four Charged After Toronto Police Raid Unlicensed Dispensary

Four people from in and around Toronto have been charged after local police raided an unlicensed dispensary in North York and discovered about 71 kilograms of cannabis edibles and various other drugs.

After working with the city’s Municipal Licensing & Standards team, officers with the Toronto Police Service (TPS) executed a search warrant shortly before 5:00 p.m. on Apr. 30 at Just Compassion Dispensary, TPS reported May 4.

Inside the business, they allegedly discovered and seized 71.4 kg of weed edibles, almost 560 grams of hash, 394 pre-rolled joints, 7.2 kg of loose cannabis, 126 grams of psilocybin, 22 grams of CBD powder and $2,382 in Canadian currency.

Justin Loizos, 36, Emil Mikhailov, 44, Michael Milligan, 28, and Orgesa Bilalli, 22, have all been charged with possession for the purpose of selling cannabis, possession of a Schedule III substance for the purpose of trafficking and possession of proceeds of crime under $5,000.

Loizos also faces a count of failing to comply with an order made during a declared emergency, the TPS reports.

All accused are scheduled to appear in Toronto court on June 16.

Illegal distribution or sale of cannabis can result in tickets for small amounts, but as long as 14 years in prison for large amounts, according to Legal Line.
