Violations at a Health Canada licensed cannabis grow operation have resulted in two Markham residents facing charges.

Members of the Provincial Joint Forces Cannabis Enforcement Team executed a warrant June 17 at a Health Canada outlet in Wainfleet and seized more than $5 million in processed cannabis and plants.

According to the Ontario Provincial Police Niagara Region detachment, it was believed infractions to the Cannabis Act were taking place regarding the legal limits of cannabis to be grown.

The PJFCET operation  seized 3,852 pounds of processed cannabis worth approximately $3,852,000 and 1,294 cannabis plants valued at approximately $1,294,000.
