Heritage Cannabis is getting personal with pot.
The company’s EndoDNA test kit — which examines hundreds of genes and hundreds of thousands of nucleotides to determine the most effective strain for an individual — is now available in Canada through its subsidiary, Endocanna Health Inc.
DNA test results provide a wealth of information on how certain concentrations of the plant’s cannabinoids and terpenes interact with different genetic makeups. “With millions of cannabis consumers coming into the new legal market each year, EndoDNA aims to bring confidence through education and to guide cannabis consumers to an optimal health and wellness experience,” said Len May, Endocanna’s CEO, according to Proactive.
The results are said to remove the guesswork that perplexed consumers face when searching for a desired effect from marijuana. Canadians can purchase the kits online and then send a cheek swab to the company for analysis.
“Everyone has a unique response to THC, CBD and all other cannabinoids; no two people will have the same exact experience,” May said. “This makes it particularly challenging for new consumers with finding the right product for their specific needs,” he added.
