Even though the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario website indicates no one has applied to the provincial government for a license to sell marijuana in Elliot Lake; an Ontario-based company says it will soon open a store in the city.
In a news release, Sessions Cannabis (Sessions) said it is setting up shop on Prince Edward Walk next to the Elliot Lake LCBO outlet.
In reply to an inquiry from ElliotLakeToday about not having a license from the Ontario government, the firm replied, “All licenses have been applied for. The store owner has received their Retail Operator License and is in queue with AGCO for their Retail Store Authorization. This is typically a 5-6 week process, and we anticipate the location being announced on AGCO within the next 2-3 weeks.”
In reply to our request for local contact information, Sessions Cannabis supplied this. “The owner of the Sessions Cannabis franchise is a resident of Elliot Lake who wishes to remain anonymous at this time.”
