THC gummy bears will soon be taken off the market in Colorado.
Gov. John Hickenlooper signed a bill into law on Friday, June 10, that effectively prohibits the production and sale of THC-infused gummy candies shaped like humans, animals or fruit in Colorado.
House Bill 1436 is designed to ban marijuana edible products in shapes that entice children in an effort to prevent accidental ingestion.
Although human, animal and fruit shaped THC-infused gummies will be banned, gummy products in geometric shapes like stars will be allowed. Fruit flavored THC-gummy candies will still be legal, as will gummy candies shaped like marijuana leafs.
