A small outdoor cannabis producer in Westsyde has just finished a rigorous process of getting a license from Health Canada.
Dunesberry Farms will grow on nine-and-a-half acres and process the product on site, at its property adjacent to The Dunes Golf Course, according to president and CEO Bill Bilton Jr.
He says they’re now in the process of getting a secondary license which will allow them to sell to the B.C. government, which will then distribute its products in public and private stores.
“And that enables us to get into the 2.0 products, which are the gummies, the edibles and extracts. And with that processing license we could also then sell directly to the provincial government, whereas we currently sell to the other (licensed producers) across Canada,” Bilton says.
