Search in Chatham turns up cannabis grow-op
Three people are facing charges after Chatham-Kent police busted an illegal indoor cannabis grow operation in Chatham.
Police said they executed a search warrant at the residence on an undisclosed street in Chatham on Tuesday.
Officers were reportedly looking for “items related to an offence under the Cannabis Act” and that’s what they allegedly found.
Police said some of the plants had already been harvested and the grow-op was partially dismantled by the time officers got there. During their search, police also reportedly found some psilocybin (magic mushrooms).
A 33-year-old man and a 22-year-old woman — both from Chatham — were arrested, charged with possession of a controlled substance and then released with conditions and a future court date.
A 27-year-old Chatham woman was also arrested at the scene. She was charged with drug possession and failing to comply with her release conditions and then released with conditions and a future court date.
