Ottawa police seized more than two kilograms of cannabis and a military-style gun after a traffic stop early Saturday.
Police say a vehicle was stopped near the intersection of King Edward and Mann avenues, on the edge of the uOttawa campus, at about 1:10 a.m. for a suspected Highway Traffic Act offence.
During the stop, police found the cannabis and a nine-millimetre carbine weapon. A man from Ottawa and a woman from Toronto are facing several drug and firearm charges and an HTA offence. They appeared in show-cause court Saturday.
