The cannabis industry continues to grow in Canada and jobs in the licit and illicit markets of all kinds are available for those interested.
Once relegated to only those willing to risk both arrest and stigma, more people are coming out of the cannabis closet and embracing jobs in a sector they see as having a real future. And it’s no longer just growers or budtenders.
Job boards of all kinds see cannabis companies advertising for everything from sales help to marketing, growing, lab work, construction, and anything else any other industry would need to thrive.
Dispensary job listings on Craigslist are limited at the moment in Toronto—A dispensary in Toronto is looking for a Budtender for $13 an hour, while another dispensary, Canna Stop, is looking for a full time retail manager to help with daily operations—but several Vancouver dispensaries are actively looking for employees of all kinds.
From assistant manager to management and staff for a distribution / wholesale company in the cannabis industry, numerous dispensaries making their way through the city’s licensing process are seeking people to join their teams. One Burlington, Ontario dispensary is even seeking a Practitioner of Chinese Medicine.
In Vancouver, Eggs Canna Inc., recently posted a job listing for a General Manager for $55,000 a year. The chain has three stores, at least two of which are currently making their way through the city’s licensing program.
