Police say a pair of raids in Calgary’s suburbs netted a large haul of pot and cash, following a three-month probe into a high-level marijuana trafficking ring.
Last Wednesday, search warrants were executed on two homes in the southeast neighbourhood of New Brighton and the northwest community of Valley Ridge, the culmination of an investigation that began in January after police learned of a man who had allegedly been supplying drugs to other dealers.
The raids recovered 10.4 kilograms of marijuana and more than $12,500 in cash. The estimated street value of the pot is $36,000.
Tu Chan Tran, 42, and Jeffry Daniel Von Der Ahe, 28, both of Calgary, are charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking. Tran has an additional charge of possession of proceeds of crime.
