It’s no longer a niche market, but Lolly is set to become Caledonia’s first cannabis shop — and it’s a family affair.
Co-founders Danielle Braemer and her uncle, Dan Marazzato were originally set to go once the building inspection was approved earlier this summer, only to be informed they needed further retail store authorization from the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario before they could open.
“It was a complete shock because we had followed everything they told us,” said Braemer.
They received the final approvals on Nov. 3 and are set to open Nov. 21. While they cannot have an official launch, Braemer said that opening day “won’t be boring.”
“We are really excited to meet the community and all those who sent kind notes of encouragement and excitement throughout this process,” she said.
