RCMP have busted an illicit cannabis grow-op at a property in Metro Vancouver that is involved in another investigation into the illegal export of cannabis to Europe.
B.C. RCMP stated today (December 8) that federal RCMP teams and Langley RCMP used search warrants at a rural property located in Langley.
Although this property, which had been already undergoing a previous investigation, has five medical licences to produce cannabis, officers found and seized approximately 3,230 cannabis plants over the licensed amount.
In addition, RCMP seized about 136 kilograms (300 pounds) of packaged cannabis that was prepared for distribution.
“Organized crime continues to try and shelter their illicit cannabis production through the exploitation of medical marihuana licenses,” Supt. Richard Bergevin stated in a news release.
