An Attempt to Conceal a Forest of Cannabis Plants Near a Greenhouse Went Bust When the Ontario Police Came Knocking

An Ontario Provincial Police raid executed this week under the Cannabis Act resulted in the seizure of more than 200 cannabis plants.

Officers from the Caledon OPP Detachment’s Community Street Crime Unit (CSCU)  and the Central Region Emergency Response Team descended on a Heather Street property on September 16, 101.5 Orangeville Today reports. The search yielded 235 cannabis plants, ranging from roughly five to seven feet tall.

The plants were seized and are set to be destroyed.

Aerial photos of the scene feature what appears to be a small forest of pot plants inside a fenced-in, outdoor area next to what looks like a greenhouse.

The raid was the result of an investigation carried out by the CSCU in partnership with the Town of Caledon Regulatory Services.

No suspects have been named, and the OPP has not announced arrests or charges laid as a result of the raid. Police are appealing to the public for help with the investigation, encouraging anyone with information to contact police or Crime Stoppers.
