Article by Tom Morrison, Chatham This Week
Residents have until Saturday to provide comments on the proposed location of Chatham’s first potential legal cannabis store.
The Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario lists a store called Herbologi at 138 King St. W. as reaching the “public notice” phase of the application process.
This means the AGCO is accepting written submissions by residents of the municipality or the municipality itself.
However, the AGCO recently announced it will not be allowing any new cannabis stores to open while they are under restrictions due to COVID-19, but it will be working through applications so the stores are able to open once they are allowed to.
Currently, existing shops are closed to visitors in Ontario, but they can offer curbside pickup or delivery.
The owner of Herbologi is listed as a numbered company, 2742845 Ontario Inc., on the AGCO website.
