Why Put a Filter Tip/Roach Paper in a Joint?

We’ve all had that bad experience at some point, smoking a joint right down to the end and burning your fingers or being disappointed with how much bud is left at the end. Adding a filter tip/roach paper to the joint/blunt/split will give you something to hold onto as you finish it, rather than a roach clip. This also keeps the cannabis away from your lips making it so you can smoke it right to the end. These filters are often made at home with a business card or other slightly thicker paper. Glass and bamboo prefabricated filter tips have become more familiar, but some type of paper is most common place.
