Is Vaping Better Than Smoking?

Vaping is preferred by some as there is no concern about inhaling combusted matter. Vaporizers heat flower just to the point that releases its psychoactive compounds, but not enough to actually create a fire. In smoking, of course, we use fire to get the whole thing going. The benefit to vaping is avoiding possibly harmful compounds that result from traditional smoking. Marijuana smoking is deemed to impart much less risk than tobacco smoking, but neither are truly ideal.

As with all things, there are pros and cons to vaping. It is easier to vape discreetly and on-the-go than it is to smoke a joint. There is no heavy, lingering smell of smoke. No dealing with rolling papers, roaches, ashtrays and the like.

With plenty of things going for vaping, it is important to remember that not all vapes are created equal. There have been quality control issues in several brands, and regulations in this area are often ambiguous. It is important to do your due diligence when browsing and purchase a vape from a reputable company. A good quality vape will be an investment in your overall cannabis experience and hold up better than an inferior model.

Still, for the occasional cannabis user, joints are just fine and carry with them minimal risk. For a much smaller investment you have a low fuss, low muss method of enjoying a toke. Many people enjoy the ritual of rolling, a nod to cannabis culture and a chance to practice one’s skill in rolling that elusive perfect joint.
