A trick on TikTok that has gone claims to quickly reduce cannabis-induced paranoia and anxiety. There seems to be some science that supports the claim.

Regular cannabis smokers are intimately acquainted with weed anxiety. This result, which tends to happen for first-timers, people who smoke a different strain of weed or who overindulge, can quickly throw a wrench into a relaxing evening. And TikTok seems to now be touting a well-known hack for it: peppercorns and lemons.

TikTok user @transstender’s viral hack suggests chewing or sniffing on whole peppercorns or lemons will help reduce the paranoia and anxiety that sometimes comes with consuming THC. While many dedicated weed users already know this, younger generations who may not have are now clued in.

The chemicals in peppercorns and lemons help a person relax by creating an effect that’s similar to the one produced by CBD. There’s some science to support this.
