A survey commissioned by P.E.I.-based licensed producer Figr and conducted by Toronto-based data firm Maru/Blue has revealed some surprising insights about the modern cannabis consumer.
The survey takes into account everything from attitude, to perceptions, to buying habits.
One takeaway is that Canadians are warming up to buying their cannabis online. Nearly half of the respondents (43 per cent) said they prefer purchasing from online retailers than visiting brick and mortar stores, a significant jump from 2019, when Statistics Canada reported less than 15 per cent of sales were conducted online.
It should also come as no surprise that Canadians are big fans of combining cannabis and the outdoors. Seven out of 10 respondents feel that outdoor activities like walking, camping, and hiking, are enhanced by consuming cannabis. If you’re stuck inside, cannabis may help in getting some chores done, with survey respondents indicating that activities like cleaning and laundry can be aided by cannabis.
