Cannabis can make anything better, so why not sex? As a female, I have no idea what it is like to have a penis. For the most part, I know what cannabis does to my vagina. But, I can’t even fathom what might be going on down there when a man smokes a joint, especially before sexual stimulation. Plus, what causes an erection can be as unique as a person’s endocannabinoid system. I need satisfaction because this curiosity has been driving me crazy; does cannabis make it harder to stay hard?
Knowing how much cannabis helps me relax, I can’t imagine it would really help maintain an erection. I know that erections don’t come from a muscle in the dick. However, I can’t help but wonder if using something that causes relaxation everywhere else could have an impact.
I also know there is evidence to show that cannabis lowers blood pressure, which gets me thinking. Viagra also lowers blood pressure and it causes erections. Does that therefore mean that cannabis can cause erections? The question remains, just what does cannabis do to an erect penis?
For those of you who may not know, Viagra was originally created to treat hypertension and angina. However, during the clinical trials, one particular side effect kept on popping up, becoming pretty hard to ignore. Pfizer took notice of this reaction and then took advantage of the opportunity, creating the first approved prescription medication to treat erectile dysfunction. No question about it, blood pressure is a huge factor when it comes to having the ability to achieve an erection and cannabis may affect this measure…but how?
Let’s start with what causes an erection in the first place! (…um…within the human body)
When a man becomes aroused, little muscles within the penis relax, allowing for blood to pump into expandable tissue. Little sacs within this tissue fill up, causing the penis to enlarge, stiffen and result in an erection.
I asked around. This is what I heard…
“I don’t know about hardness but it increases stamina and sensitivity.”
“I don’t notice a change in hardness or anything but the orgasm is way better.”
