A man is knocking on the front doors of lavish homes in Canada and asking the owners what they do for a living as part of his popular TikTok series.

Aaron Vankampen, who works as a freelance location scout for his Toronto-based company One Percent Homes, has come across everyone from a cannabis store owner to a dream worker while filming the videos, which have earned him more than 567,000 followers.

‘I am simply doing this for everyone who has ever passed by a luxury home and wondered, What do they do for a living?’ Vankampen told BuzzFeed News.

He explained that as a location scout he is constantly making inquiries to film at places, including homes. He came up with the idea for his TikTok account while looking for a way to expand his business.

‘I wanted to increase my workload and income because my primary source of income — bartending — has been crippled by the COVID-19 pandemic,’ he said.

The concept is simple, yet brilliant: When he comes across an expensive-looking home, he knocks on the door and asks whoever answers what they do for a living.

Each video features multiple properties, ranging in style and size, from modern architecture to sprawling estates. Vankampen makes a point to film the front of the homes as well as the pricey cars in the driveway before approaching the front door.
