Canada’s foremost reality TV game show Big Brother Canada Season 8 premiered this week with a hot new superhero theme and a new set of houseguests from across the country, ready to compete for $100,000 cash, $10,000 worth of Summer Fresh groceries and a vacation for two anywhere in the world from Expedia.
I’m a big fan of the show — but as the winner of the third season, I’m a little biased. But I truly believe that it’s the perfect show for stoners to watch — and to win!
First of all, it’s funny. Producers like Trevor Boris, the iconic comedian, and writers like Trevor Hammond keep the segments witty, quick and relatable. Plus, houseguests themselves always bring a quirky brand of real-time humour, all caught on one of more than 50 cameras and personal microphones which record the houseguests for 24 hours a day, seven days a week — for 83 days! (This year is the longest the Canadian format has ever been, which plays into the superhero-theme).
