This week Canada celebrated it’s first legal 4/20 with many events going on around Toronto. Dankr.ca had the pleasure of being invited to the 7ACRES Session Garden, taking place on 4/19 at their corporate office in downtown Toronto. Despite the rain, a large number of people were in attendance. It was lucky to have the party that day, as April 20th was full of activities.
Upon arriving we were greeted by two 7ACRES representatives welcoming us and signing us in in front of large green, artificial hedge barriers. As we took our time signing in you could hear the DJ’s music and smell the different strains of cannabis lofting through the air. Certain strains caught my nose reminding me of being at a concert.
When entering, you were immediately struck by the beautiful ambiance 7ACRES had created for the party. They had canopies set up to keep everyone dry, with tables and chairs to have a smoke. There were also live plants scattered around making the regular corporate office/parking lot feel a part of nature with heat lamps to keep warm. If you looked closely you could see the painted handicap parking spot sticking out from under AstroTurf. It was amazing to see the result of the transformation they had preformed.
Spread throughout the party there were little information stations where you could learn more about the brand and/or strains. They had a “gift shop”, giving out 7ACRES branded swag for donations, including metal grinders, custom mason jars, dab mats, rain ponchos, t-shirts, hats, lighters, and rolling papers.
For those looking to get information passively, there were large framed posters for the four different strains grown by 7ACRES (Jean Guy, Wappa, Sensi Star, White Widow) with a little description on the look, smell, and taste. I was very excited when I heard there were samples of their strain for guests to look at and smell. This was a unique opportunity to see the products they produce, give it a smell, and ask any questions you may have to their growers.
Eventually we made our way inside, where the majority of the festivities were taking place. That’s there the DJ was set up, across from the donation bar and food service (pizza, sandwiches, drinks, etc.) provided by local shops such as The Grow Op. There were a number of picnic tables inside so people had a place to sit and eat. There was also a dab bar at the end of the tables that we didn’t make our way to, but stopped by the KKE (Khalifa Kush Enterprises) room.
In December 2018, 7ACRES/The Supreme Cannabis Company signed a deal with Khalifa Kush Enterprises, branding 7ACRES’ oil under the KKE label. I was really excited when I first read that on the 7ACRES’ website months ago and it was great to be able to ask some more questions and sign up for any early promotions. I learned the branded oil would be the same strains currently produced by 7ACRES, as there are rules against importing new genetics, at least currently.
I had a great time at the 7ACRES Session Garden, and it was a wonderful way to kick off celebrating the first legal Canadian 4/20. 7ACRES has put a lot of time and energy into having a connection with cannabis consumers and being true to the community, something that doesn’t go unnoticed by the number of familiar and friendly faces in attendance. I highly recommend if you get the opportunity to attend a 7ACRES party, don’t pass it up, as it is always a blast!
