After much anticipation, the fourth of the five retail cannabis licensees in Toronto began taking customers on Monday.
Tokyo Smoke is now open at 333 Yonge St, in the location of the former HMV building. After missing the April 1 deadline, the business has continued the same visual theme seen in its other locations in Manitoba.
Sleek, modern, and monochromatic, the store is offering 104 different strains of cannabis, according to a press release. Budtenders use tablets to pull up strain information and pricing, filling a virtual cart with product until it’s time to check out.
The strict rules around cannabis displays make it difficult to interact with products, but the store offers several touch points that allow customers to see — and smell — the flower before purchase.
