Pure Releaf Overview:
Overall I was happy with my experience at Pure Releaf. The dispensary was a bit small, fitting 5 patients in there made it a little cramped. Pure Releaf offered 8 different cannabis strains for their patients to choose from, all at affordable prices.
Pure Releaf Location:
897 Dundas St. West
Pure Releaf is located on Dundas Street just east of Trinity Bellwoods Park. This is easily accessible by TTC and offers a park to enjoy after you pick up you medicine. If you prefer to drive, there shouldn’t be any issues finding parking.
Pure Releaf Membership Access:
Pure Releaf offers a free in-house consultant service to individuals who would like to sign up. If you are already a MMAR/MMPR/ACMPR patient you just need to initial a form on a tablet and have your ID scanned. Pure Releaf did not have member’s cards for their patients.
Pure Releaf Pricing & Selection:
Pure Releaf came up with a smart way to display their cannabis. It is stored in mason jars with a sticker on top listing the potential medical issues it could help. The jars were also clearly marked with the strain name and prices for all 8 strains. The strains ranged from $6 – $12/gram with tax included. Both their low & high-end strains were enjoyable, meaning they should be able to satisfy whatever you are looking for, depending on the price range.
Pure Releaf carried three different brands of shatter: Diamond Concentrates, Phyto Extracts, and a house brand. If you prefer consuming your shatter from a vape pen, Pure Releaf offers Biocan and JUJU vape pens. When you are done with your vape, it can be recycled onsite in their vape pen recycling bin.
Pure Releaf’s UK Cheese
Right away when I smelt the jar at the dispensary, I knew this was a different strain than the UK Cheese I reviewed from Tweed. This UK Cheese has a strong sharp cheddar smell. The nugs are extremely dense, they barely deformed under a lot of pressure. The smoking experience is very enjoyable, leaving a creamy flavor in my mouth. The effects were well balanced, leaving me comfortably relaxed. I found it is more of a sativa hybrid, making it great for a productive afternoon. I really enjoy my actual cheese in real life, so I’m a big fan of UK Cheese, I’ll definitely be getting it next time I see it on a dispensary menu.
Unique to Pure Releaf:
This Pure Releaf, at least, had it’s own unique vibe. There were Weedmaps and Leafly stickers plastered everywhere. They also offered free stickers to their patients. This more relaxed feel did not mean they were unprofessional, the budtender used tongs and plastic gloves to handle the medicine. Pure Releaf offered a pre-rolled joint to all patients that fill out a Weedmaps and/or Leafly review. Possibly due to this incentive, Pure Releaf was voted one of Ontario’s best dispensaries for June, July, August, and September of 2016 according to Leafly. The walls also had posters displaying the variety of cannabinoids and what symptoms they could help.
Pure Releaf Staff:
Staff were busy when I stopped by Pure Releaf, helping out three other patients. This made for some confusion after I had finished registering. People were still trying to register and I couldn’t get around them to make a purchase. The budtender was helpful, pointing me in the appropriate direction, along with the labeled jars indicating medical issues it could help. I was happy with the experience I had at Pure Releaf, offering quality cannabis for affordable prices.
