Ossington Dispensary Overview:
Ossington Dispensary is very nice and professional. There is a receptionist waiting to welcome patients and sign up new ones just behind the front door. In the budroom, they have seats for people to wait as others make their purhases. The budtender gave me a quick run through of the variety of products they had on hand.
Ossington Dispensary Location:
198 Ossington Ave.
Ossington Dispensary is located just south of Ossington & Dundas. It is easiest to reach this dispensary by taking a Dundas street car to Ossington. If you are eager to sample the medicine you just picked up, I recommend going a few blocks east to Trinity Bellwoods Park. Trinity Bellwoods Park is a great place to hang out with friends and have a picnic, no one will notice if you choose to spark up a J.
Ossington Dispensary Membership Access:
Gaining membership to Ossington Dispensary is simple if you are a medical marijuana patient, a card-holding member of another dispensary, or have a doctor’s diagnosis. To become a patient, there is a short form to fill out, then you will be approved to make your purchase. The dispensary is not open to all 19+ individuals, but 19+ individuals can enter the budroom if they are with a medical patient.
Ossington Dispensary Pricing & Selection:
Ossington Dispensary was low on product when I visited, but still had 10 different phenotypes to choose from. They had a reduced amount of product on site in fear of a raid with a new, more liberal, dispensary opening across the street. There are usually 30 different strains available on site, stored in small mason jars to keep them fresh. All strains are priced at $10 – $12/gram tax included and are weight by budtenders with gloves in front of you, keeping the medicine in pristine condition.
With a low selection of products on hand, they still had a few non-cannabis bud products. These included pre-load e-pens, hash, and shatter.
Ossington Dispensary Hempstar & Dutch Treat:
I selected Ossington Dispensary’s Hempstar and Dutch Treat to give a try. Both strains were grown very well and picked at optimal time providing full, crystal covered buds. The Hempstar was very smooth to smoke and provides an uplifting, clear, energetic buzz. The hybrid, Dutch Treat, had a sweet, creamy flavor that fogged my mental focus. The indica traits made it hard to work compared to the Hempstar, which can be enjoyed during the day. All purchases come packaged in a “Smelly Proof” bag to help keep the smell down from your medicine. This is an added bonus, with these baggies being very handy.
Unique to Ossington Dispensary:
Ossington Dispensary has a nice layout, very different from other dispensaries. They have a front desk with someone there to register new patients and approve old member to enter the budroom. The budroom is located just behind the front desk. It has large glass windows on the front making it appear completely open. The budtenders operate with gloves and use “Smelly Proof” baggies to ensure no contamination of your medicine.
Ossington Dispensary Staff:
Staff at Ossington Dispensary were kind and polite. They showed me the different products they had available and allowed me to take my time as I made my purchase. This dispensary was very clean and well run, I would definitely return again!
Update: Ossington Dispensary has closed their dispensary because, “our landlord received a threatening letter from Toronto Police Services and the risks for employees continued to grow.” Ossington Dispensary also notified their customers that they will be starting an “app based delivery service” to meet their patients needs. More information about the delivery service will be updated, when known.
