Canadian Benevolent Dispensary Overview:
Canadian Benevolent Dispensary is an amazing dispensary! They offer great quality buds for a very affordable price. They are a very caring dispensary, trying to help both their patients and the local community. If you are in Kensington you must check this dispensary out!
Canadian Benevolent Dispensary Location:
53/55 Kensington Ave. (Kensington Market)
Canadian Benevolent Dispensary (CBD) has two locations, the other being on Danforth Road. The location I visited is in the heart of Kensington Market. It is not hard to reach by TTC and there are parking options in the area for drivers. CBD’s dispensary is tucked away around the corner, down St. Andrew Street.
CBD is a very professional dispensary, everything from the staff to the design. Staff members refer to the medicinal effects of the products for their patients, not customers getting high. The dispensary has a waiting room with a staff member to welcome and help you. To enter the bud room you need to be buzzed in. This makes you feel secure at all times while inside the dispensary.
Canadian Benevolent Dispensary Membership Access:
Membership access is limited to MMAR and MMPR members only. There is a one-page form to fill out and sign. Once that’s completed, your membership card should be printed. You can now enter the bud room and make a purchase.
Canadian Benevolent Dispensary Pricing & Selection:
Canadian Benevolent Dispensary has a special on, offering $6/gram (tax not included) on all buds, for all of July 2016. This is the most affordable pricing I have seen so far. They still offer a large variety, with 14 different strains. Each of the four strains I’ve tried (Black Jack, Green Goddess, God Bud, Pink Kush) were very impressive. All buds were extremely crystally, had a good trim job and burned to a nice grey ash. The quality cannabis is sourced locally from MMAR growers.
Buds usually retail for $6 – $8/gram without tax and there are discounts for bulk purchases. This is a great place & price to source your medicine. They also offer Phoenix Tear for only $20 and hash is $10/gram. They also have shatter for $65- $70/gram plus tax.
Unique to Canadian Benevolent Dispensary:
Canadian Benevolent Dispensary really cares for their patients and the community. They organize and run free BBQ’s for local kids. For their patients, they can win free ¼ ounces by picking the right card and have monthly raffle giveaways. They also have affordable pricing from $6 to $8/gram plus tax which is a drastic drop compared to the competition and the bud is top shelf as well.
Canadian Benevolent Dispensary Staff:
The staff are extremely friendly and very talkative, in a good way. They made me feel comfortable and not pressured into making any purchases. Staff were upfront, I asked about a particular strain and they told it wasn’t that enjoyable. Jeff knew it wasn’t what I was looking for after our long conversation about loving the different flavors of weed. He even recommended another dispensary (Canna Boss) to try their Strawberry Cheesecake.
With the ever-evolving landscape of the medical marijuana system in Toronto, Canadian Benevolent Dispensary (CBD) has decided to adjust their approach. Since a visit from by-law officers, CBD is no longer operating as a dispensary. It is now a consulting service for individuals looking for recommendations on a doctor to see or what strain to choose. When looking for different strains, you will be presented a binder with all the strain information printed out. If there is something you are interested in trying, one of the employees may be able to gift you some of their personal supply. These appointments have a fee based on how long they are and what they consist of.
The Kensington CBD location has closed down, and is no longer open for business. Please check out there other location at 1071 Danforth Rd.
