A missing or destroyed computer hard drive, sealed briefs and gag orders, oh my.
Contrary to the open spirit of this nation’s judicial system, NJ Weedman concludes one thing about Mercer County prosecutors’ posture in his drug case.
“I feel like a prisoner at Guantanamo Bay,” marijuana activist Ed “NJ Weedman” Forchion said, comparing his treatment in Trenton’s criminal courts to the brutal military detention camp synonymous with torture and due process abuses under former President George W. Bush’s administration.
Forchion said following a status hearing Wednesday that prosecutors are treating a marijuana case like a complex terrorism case. All that’s missing is the waterboarding.
“I’m sure they’d arrange that if they could,” defense attorney Edward Heyburn told his client inside a conference room. The two are back to their old delighted ways following a brief separation over a disagreement.
Forchion was hit with multiple drug distribution charges stemming from an April raid, which authorities said resulted in the seizure of $19,000 worth of marijuana.
