In anticipation of the most celebrated day for stoners and cannabis consumers everywhere, rideshare app Lyft and the Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT) have teamed up to provide safe rides for high-flyers on April 20, aka 420. They’re calling the weedy promotion the ‘320 Movement’ in hopes that it will inspire the stoned and mobile to plan ahead for the big day before getting baked AF and then behind the wheel. At 3:20pm every Sunday between now and April 16, CDOT and Lyft will be slangin discount codes for reduced-fare rides.
“320 is about getting ahead of your high. No matter what you do at 4:20, rather than drive, sit back and enjoy the ride,” reads the promotional branding.
Which is totally chill. Driving while high is capital D dangerous, and the not-so-chill practice occupies hands that could otherwise be knuckles deep in a bag of munchies. The 3/20 Lyft cars will be weed-themed, which could either be dope, or gauche AF.
