Minor Cares Overview:
Minor Cares is a craft cannabis company that makes cannabis infused treats and beauty products. Minor Cares has a Certificate of Competency in the Cannabis Industry from Northeastern Institute of Cannabis and used this knowledge to expand her company. Some of their original edible products included Canna Capsules, Jelly Gummies, and Canna Crips. Over time the diversity of products grew to include health and beauty products like beard oil, moisturizing and exfoliating bars, to name a few. All of the products made by Minor Cares use cannabis from their own garden. This helps control the process, ensuring consistent dosing between various batches and products.
Accessing Minor Cares:
Minor Cares’ products currently aren’t available in any dispensaries in Toronto, but can be contacted directly for a purchase. Minor Cares is a regular vendor at the Green Market Toronto where you can purchase the majority of their products and talk with the producer herself. This is a great opportunity for people who want the utmost information on their products. Often dispensary employees will be well versed with the different cannabis strains they have on hand, but the edible and salves/creams often fall through the cracks. Talking directly to the producer allows you to have your specific questions answered correctly. You can contact Minor Cares using the phone number below, or the following email for purchases: firstname.lastname@example.org

Unique to Minor Cares:
The story of Minor Cares goes back many years to when she was 16 years old, and was thrown against a door from being struck by lightening. Being thrown against the door injured her back, along with burning sensations and other issues resulting form the lightening. From an early age Minor Cares was interested in cannabis and did a project on it in school, quoting “it’s just a plant”. From which she got a lot of backlash and was lead to believe her choices were bad & wrong. No one around her was interested in hearing how cannabis helps and heals. Minor Cares continued to do research and started her cannabis edible and topical business in 2003. She obtained her license to produce and starting to grow her business. In 2014 Minor Cares graduated from Northeastern Institute of Cannabis in Natick, Massachusetts with a Certificate of Competency in the Cannabis Industry. She uses this knowledge as she continues to grow her business and expands the line of products she produces, diversifying herself from the other craft cannabis companies.
Minor Cares does a few different things than their competitors. Firstly, Minor Cares is a “from garden to table” company as well as “garden to skin”. This means Minor Cares grows their own cannabis plants and uses them to infuse their products. This ensures the cannabis is grown exactly to the specifications of Minor Cares. Next they use the cannabis buds to infuse their products, rather than extracting the THC via BHO or a distillate extraction prior to infusing. Doing the whole process from garden to finished product helps keep the cost down and ensures the whole process is monitored.
With Minor Cares doing all of the infusions themselves, it gives them great diversity to infuse whatever products they want. Minor Cares also offers a catering service where they will infuse whatever food you would like served at your event. All of these products are infused by Kimberly Minor who refined her skills at the Northeastern Institute of Cannabis where she graduated with a Certificate of Competency in the Cannabis Industry. With this knowledge Minor Cares has expanded their product line to carry more products appealing to a larger, diverse audience while insuring the quality of their products.
Canna Crisps Smell, Texture, Taste:
When you open the Minor Cares’ Canna Crisps packaging, you will notice a cannabis butter smell that is hard to miss. This will help prevent people for accidentally consuming this product, if they are aware of what cannabis smells like. Visually, there is no difference between regular rice crispy squares and the Canna Crisps. The infused treat did not have any green colouring to it, and held it’s shape in the packaging. When eating the Canna Crisps, there was a noticeable cannabis flavour at the beginning and the middle. This flavour was strong, and may be off putting for some patients. I didn’t mind the flavour though. Surprisingly, there was little cannabis flavour at the end of chewing it. Often, strong edibles will leave a cannabis taste in your mouth that lingers for a while.
Canna Crisps Effects:
Prior to trying the Canna Crisp, I had previously not eaten anything. This ensured I had an empty stomach and would get the most medical effects. I ate two Canna Crips, marked 40mg each (THC presumably) on an empty stomach. This adds up to a total of 80mg of THC, which would provide a medium to strong effect for myself. About 20 minutes after consuming, I noticed effects starting to slowly creep in. As time went on I was surprised by the limited psychoactive effects, but there was an increased relaxation felt throughout my body. This was very calming and can help with specific medical issues. This product would be useful for someone who uses cannabis for stress or anxiety and don’t like strong mental effects. 1.5 hours in, I was feeling very relaxed and sleepy. The effect lasted for 2 and a half hours before slowly subsiding. Personally, I wish the Canna Crisps were a bit more potent, as I didn’t feel the effects of 80 mg worth of THC.
