Legalization is already reshaping the way the general public views cannabis across the board. This trend will continue over the coming years, and be dynamically shaped by the ongoing dialogue between consumers and the media. So it’s no surprise that we’re seeing more and more positive mentions of cannabis and cannabis related products in the mainstream every day.

I recently covered the intersection of one of the CBC’s biggest TV hits, Dragons’ Den, and the developing cannabis industry in Canada. Dragons Brett Wilson and Arlene Dickinson have both publicly invested in Canadian cannabis businesses, and Kevin O’Leary has, as part of his push to take leadership of the national Conservative party, endorsed the legalization of cannabis with more enthusiasm than our current prime minister ever will.

There are already countless examples of mainstream media and high profile public figures endorsing cannabis, and a couple days ago, TIME magazine jumped on the bandwagon with their list of the 25 best inventions of 2016 by including—alongside technological marvels like self-tying shoes and China’s new space station—the Hmbldt Vape Pen.
