One Ottawa marijuana dispensary has closed indefinitely after an armed robbery and another had an eviction notice posted on its door Tuesday.
The Capital City Cannabis Clinics shop in a strip mall located at Bank Street and Heron Road has closed “for an undetermined amount of time,” according to a notice on its door.
The dispensary was robbed last Thursday by four men, one armed with a gun, according to Ashley Whitman, the manager of the Pampered Pets store next door.
The female dispensary employee ran into her store for help, said Whitman. “She came flying in yelling ‘I’m being robbed! I’m being robbed at gunpoint! I knew this was going to happen.’ ”
A man with a gun arrived at the front counter and forced the employee to unlock the door to the back room, where the cannabis is stored, said Whitman. The robber then opened the back door that leads to a parking lot and wooded area. “Then three other guys came in and pushed her to the ground.”
